Douglas D. Brown is a husband and is a father of three, and has practiced Criminal Justice and Family Law in Tangipahoa Parish for nearly two decades. Brown began his career as a judicial law clerk for State District Judge Ray Chutz in Amite, and later served as the City of Hammond's Assistant City Prosecutor. Brown attended Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and earned a BA degree from Southeastern Louisiana University in Economics. Brown earned a JD degree from Louisiana State University's Paul M. Hebert Law Center.
Brown's felony trial practice includes homicide, drug trafficking, kidnapping, burglary, and fourth offense DWI.
Brown has been a member of the American Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers, the Federal Bar Association, , the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Twenty First Judicial District Bar Association, and the Florida Parishes Inns of Court. Brown has also served as a Congressional Intern in the Washington, D.C. office of Hon. Richard Baker.
